PRiME has the objective of strengthening M&E as a tool that fosters greater development impact in the rural sector. The first cohort of PRiME participants are mainly officials from government ministries in more than 36 countries currently engaged with IFAD. In the future, PRiME will welcome other rural development professionals, consultants, as well as staff from affiliated international financial institutions and multilateral development banks.
The first edition of PRiME (2017-2018) came to an end after the completion of the two courses that comprise the program:
- Fundamentals of M&E 1: held from October 9th – 13th, 2017 in Rome, Italy.
- Fundamentals of M&E 2: held from April 9th – 13th, 2018 in Nairobi, Kenya.
This edition had the participation of 44 government officials from 36 countries that work on IFAD projects in different regions:
- Asia and the Pacific
- East and Southern Africa
- Latin America and the Caribbean
- Near East North Africa and Europe
- West and Central Africa
The second edition of PRiME will take place between October 2018 and Spring 2019.
